Why It Matters

Driving clarity, alignment, and team effectiveness

Overview

On May 27, 2026, Fifth Season Consulting partnered with Kirkwood Community College’s Corporate Training team to facilitate a team working session for GreenState Credit Union at the Kirkwood Hotel.

The session was designed to create greater alignment across the team by focusing on roles, responsibilities, and opportunities for improved collaboration.

The Opportunity

As teams grow and evolve, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain clarity around:

  • Individual roles and responsibilities

  • Ownership of key workstreams

  • Alignment to team goals and priorities

Without intentional alignment, teams can experience duplication of work, bottlenecks, and reduced efficiency.

Approach

The session combined structured pre-work with a facilitated, collaborative discussion.

Pre-Work & Preparation

Participants completed guided reflections focused on:

  • Roles, strengths, and areas of expertise

  • Current responsibilities and time allocation

  • Key contributions to team and organizational priorities

They also identified:

  • Opportunities for improved workflow and collaboration

  • Areas where additional support or clarity was needed

Facilitated Working Session

During the session, Fifth Season guided the team through:

  • Individual presentations to build shared understanding

  • Discussion of overlaps, gaps, and bottlenecks

  • Identification of opportunities to streamline work and improve ownership

The session emphasized practical, real-time problem solving rather than theoretical discussion.

Potential Impact

The session created space for:

  • Increased clarity around roles and responsibilities

  • Improved alignment to team priorities

  • Awareness of workflow inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement

Participants were able to identify actionable changes to support more effective and sustainable ways of working.
